Welcome! Fort Ord Recreation Trails (FORT) Friends is a local non-profit created by people who share a passion for the trails on the former Fort Ord military base. We believe in giving back through volunteerism, partner with public land managers, and serve as a clearinghouse for information.

F.O.R.T. (FORT ORD RECREATION TRAILS) FrIENDS

Join FORT Friends for Public Lands Week events on Saturday, October 20 & Saturday, October 27! Run in a 5K or 10K to benefit Gold Star families, and/or volunteer on several fun projects, such as picnic table building, seed gathering to a "Ride and Trim" on nearby trails. Free lunch and entertainment will be provided. Check out Bureau of Land Management's flyer and map for more information.






Do you like to work with your hands in a beautiful outdoor setting, serve as a citizen scientist, or learn about military history? FORT Friends encourages you to get involved and volunteer! It feels good to “give back” to our wonderful trail system, and it is fun working together with great people. Check out our Partners page to learn about local groups who are active on Fort Ord.
